About 15 years ago I took part in an art show and did a bunch of paintings based on this man’s life. At some point I lost all of them. At that point in time I didn’t see much done with art about him. Now I see more and more wonderful work dedicated to him. Is there a documentary yet?
A few years later a friend told me that they saw these artworks that I lost in a bicycle shop in West Berkeley. I remember going down to the shop and I asked them where they got the paintings from and they said that they were donated to them. At first I was going to try to take the paintings but then I looked at the shop and said this is the perfect place for them. I don’t even think I told the shop workers who I was. I said goodbye to the paintings and rode my bicycle off into the sunset.
